WeldWindow® by MasterWeld® brings new possibilities for welding bays, especially for robotic or any other automated welding application, where viewing of the welding process is necessary along with the protection required according to EN ISO 25980 from the welding process.
What are the regulations when veiwing an automated welding process?
With automated welding processes, complete encapsulation of the welding area is recommend according to the Optical Radiation Protection Ordinance (OStrV) so that no radiation can escape. In practice, this is rarely feasible since, for control tasks, setup, or demonstrations to visitors, the welding process must be observed at least briefly.
In such cases, the employer must prove that safety and health protection are still ensured. WeldWindow® welding protection or robot protection screens developed by MasterWeld, tested according to DIN EN ISO 25980, combine the required transparency with the necessary protective effect for the welding environment. Calculations for these materials show that for various welding processes, there is no hazard even at an observation distance of 1 meter. The exposure limit is not reached even after 8 hours of observation thanks to the filter effect of the rigid welding screens. This makes control tasks, welding setup, or demonstrations possible and permissible.
Variants
WeldWindow® is available in 3 different shaded colours. All tinted versions are tested and safe under OStrV. Some glare-related irritation may occur, but this normally does not cause irreversible damage to skin or eyes.
