MasterWeld® Submerged Arc Welding Flux Ovens – British-Made SAW Flux Drying & Baking Equipment

Industrial Submerged Arc Welding Flux Ovens | SAW Flux Drying & Baking | 80kg to 400kg Capacity | Digital Temperature Control up to 370°C | Made in Britain

The MasterWeld® Submerged Arc Welding Flux Oven range provides professional solutions for the controlled drying, baking and conditioning of welding flux used in Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) applications.

Manufactured in Britain, our industrial welding flux ovens are designed for demanding fabrication environments where correct flux handling and moisture control are important considerations in maintaining welding quality and process consistency.

Available in capacities ranging from 80kg to 400kg, the MasterWeld® range includes single-tank and dual-tank configurations, allowing welding operators to select equipment appropriate for their flux consumption, production requirements and workshop arrangements.

All four models feature digital temperature control, with an operating temperature range from ambient up to 370°C, and are designed for use with a 380V AC electrical supply.

Whether you require a compact 80kg flux drying oven or a high-capacity 400kg dual-tank flux baking oven, MasterWeld® offers British-made equipment for professional submerged arc welding operations.

Why Is Welding Flux Drying Important?

Submerged Arc Welding is widely used in heavy fabrication and industrial manufacturing, particularly where long weld runs, high deposition rates and consistent weld quality are required.

The granular welding flux used in submerged arc welding plays an important role in the welding process, helping protect the molten weld pool and influencing the characteristics of the finished weld.

Depending on the flux type, exposure to atmospheric moisture during storage, handling or use can affect its condition and may contribute to welding quality problems.

Where recommended by the flux manufacturer, controlled drying or re-baking can help restore the flux to the required condition before use.

A dedicated submerged arc welding flux drying oven provides a controlled heating environment, allowing operators to follow the appropriate flux conditioning procedures as part of their welding quality management system.

Correct flux conditioning is particularly important in applications where welding procedures specify strict consumable handling requirements.

British-Made Industrial Flux Drying & Baking Ovens

The MasterWeld® range of industrial welding flux ovens is manufactured in the United Kingdom and designed for professional welding and fabrication environments.

Each oven incorporates a digitally controlled heating system, allowing operators to select and monitor the required temperature for flux drying or baking.

With a maximum operating temperature of 370°C, the range accommodates a variety of flux conditioning requirements, subject to the flux manufacturer's recommended temperatures and heating cycles.

The ovens are available in four configurations, ranging from smaller single-tank units to high-capacity dual-tank equipment.

MasterWeld® Submerged Arc Welding Flux Oven Range

Our range comprises four industrial flux ovens, providing a choice of capacity and tank configuration to suit different submerged arc welding applications.

Model Capacity Configuration Power Max. Temp.
MWF-80D 80kg Single Tank 4kW 370°C
MWF-200D 200kg Single Tank 6.6kW 370°C
MWF-400DT 400kg Dual Tank, Single Controller 13.2kW 370°C
MWF-400DD 400kg Dual Tank, Dual Controller 13.2kW 370°C

Single-Tank Submerged Arc Welding Flux Ovens

For welding operations requiring a dedicated flux drying and baking unit, MasterWeld® offers two single-tank models.

MasterWeld® MWF-80D – 80kg Single-Tank Flux Oven

The MWF-80D is the smallest model in the MasterWeld® submerged arc flux oven range, offering an 80kg capacity, digital temperature control up to 370°C and a 4kW heating output.

Its single-tank configuration is suitable for workshops and industrial welding operations requiring a dedicated unit for smaller quantities of submerged arc welding flux.

MasterWeld® MWF-200D – 200kg Single-Tank Flux Oven

The MWF-200D provides an increased 200kg capacity, digital temperature control up to 370°C and a 6.6kW heating output.

Designed for operations requiring greater flux conditioning capacity, the MWF-200D offers a practical single-tank solution for busy industrial fabrication environments.

Dual-Tank Submerged Arc Welding Flux Ovens

For larger industrial welding operations, MasterWeld® offers two 400kg dual-tank flux ovens, providing greater capacity and a choice of temperature control arrangements.

MasterWeld® MWF-400DT – 400kg Dual-Tank Flux Oven with Single Controller

The MWF-400DT features two flux tanks with a combined 400kg capacity, controlled through a single digital temperature controller.

With a 13.2kW heating output and maximum temperature of 370°C, this model provides a high-capacity solution for industrial welding operations requiring a common temperature control arrangement.

MasterWeld® MWF-400DD – 400kg Dual-Tank Flux Oven with Dual Controllers

The MWF-400DD also offers a combined 400kg capacity and 13.2kW heating output, but features two digital temperature controllers, allowing the two tanks to be controlled separately.

This configuration is particularly useful where different flux batches require separate temperature settings, provided the selected conditioning cycles comply with the relevant flux manufacturer's recommendations.

Typical Applications

  • Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) operations
  • Industrial welding flux drying and re-baking
  • Heavy engineering and structural steel fabrication
  • Pressure vessel and boiler manufacturing
  • Pipe and tubular fabrication
  • Shipbuilding and offshore fabrication
  • Large-scale automated welding production
  • Industrial manufacturing and fabrication facilities
  • Welding operations requiring controlled flux conditioning procedures

Choosing the Right Submerged Arc Welding Flux Oven

When selecting a welding flux drying oven, it is important to consider the quantity of flux being handled, the manufacturer's recommended conditioning temperatures and the requirements of the welding operation.

For smaller flux quantities, the MWF-80D provides an 80kg single-tank solution, while the MWF-200D offers increased capacity for higher-volume applications.

For larger operations, the MWF-400DT and MWF-400DD both provide 400kg capacity through a dual-tank configuration.

The key difference between the two 400kg models is the temperature control arrangement: the MWF-400DT features a single controller, while the MWF-400DD incorporates separate controllers for the two tanks.

All models offer digital temperature control up to 370°C, with calibration included as standard.
