1.0mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 Silver Brazing Rod
The 1.0mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 silver brazing rod is ideal for fine, accurate brazing work where careful control of filler
metal is required. The smaller diameter helps the operator apply the alloy precisely, making it suitable for thin-walled
components, small fittings, delicate assemblies and close-tolerance joints.
Despite its fine diameter, the 1.0mm rod offers the same premium 56% silver, cadmium-free composition as the rest of the
SAB-56 range, providing excellent capillary flow, low melting temperature and strong, ductile joints.
1.5mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 Silver Brazing Rod
The 1.5mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 silver brazing rod is a versatile choice for light to medium-duty brazing applications.
It offers a useful balance between control and filler metal deposition, making it popular for refrigeration, HVAC,
maintenance and precision fabrication work.
Its cadmium-free 56% silver alloy flows smoothly into correctly prepared joints, helping to produce clean, reliable and
high-strength brazed connections on a wide range of compatible metals.
2.0mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 Silver Brazing Rod
The 2.0mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 silver brazing rod is one of the most commonly used sizes within the range. It is suitable
for general engineering, repair, production brazing, pipework and fabrication applications where a practical balance of
deposition rate and control is required.
The 2.0mm diameter is particularly useful for users who need a general-purpose silver brazing rod suitable for copper,
brass, bronze, stainless steel, mild steel, nickel alloys and many dissimilar metal combinations.
2.5mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 Silver Brazing Rod
The 2.5mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 silver brazing rod is suited to medium and heavier brazing applications where a greater
volume of filler metal is required. The larger diameter allows faster deposition while still retaining the excellent
flow and wetting characteristics associated with high-silver brazing alloys.
This size is suitable for larger fittings, heavier section components, general fabrication and repair work where strength,
reliability and consistent brazing performance are important.
3.0mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 Silver Brazing Rod
The 3.0mm SafraBraze® SAB-56 silver brazing rod is designed for heavier brazing work, larger joints and applications
requiring increased filler metal deposition. It is well suited to substantial assemblies and production environments
where efficient application of alloy is required.
With its 56% silver, cadmium-free composition, SAB-56 3.0mm provides strong, ductile brazed joints with excellent flow
characteristics across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Brazing Guidance
For best results, ensure all joint surfaces are clean, grease-free and correctly fitted before brazing. Joint clearances
should normally be kept close to promote effective capillary action. As SafraBraze® SAB-56 is supplied as a bare rod,
a suitable silver brazing flux should be used unless the brazing process is carried out under controlled atmosphere
conditions.
Heat should be applied evenly to the parent materials rather than directly melting the rod with the flame. Once the
joint area reaches the correct brazing temperature, the alloy should flow smoothly into the joint by capillary action.
Safety Information
Always use appropriate personal protective equipment and work in a well-ventilated area when brazing. Avoid breathing
fumes and follow the relevant Safety Data Sheet before use. Although SafraBraze® SAB-56 is cadmium-free, normal brazing
safety precautions must still be followed.
